CTE Automotive Teacher
General Position Description:
Responsible for the development, organization, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the automotive Service CTE pathway at Hanover Central High School.
Qualification:
- Licensed by the Indiana Department of Education to teach Principles of Automotive Services, Brake Systems, and Steering and Suspensions. or able to obtain Workplace specialist in a related course-approved CTE pathway.
- ASE-certified tech preferred.
- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
- Ability to get necessary credentials for teaching courses leading to industry certification and or dual credits.
- Current Automotive repair and maintenance industry practices.
- Correct business theory and practice necessary in the automotive repair business.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement lesson plans and assessments in alignment with Indiana Academic Standards for CTE Automotive Services classes as assigned.
- Establish clear procedures for the operation and functioning of automotive programming.
- Compliance with all State and federal mandates.
- Supervise personnel assigned to ensure all responsibilities are met and exceeded.
- Establish a professional rapport with students and staff that earns their respect, maintaining visibility with students, staff, parents, and the community.
- Proficient in technology as related to education.
- Select and order necessary classroom supplies and materials as provided in the classroom budget.
- Works well with high school students and adults.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary: Compensation information is available in the Master Agreement between the Hanover Organization of Professional Educators and Hanover Community School Corporation.
