Counselor on Special Assignment

Description:

This position is a part of the Intervention Services department. Applicant will use trauma-informed and theory-informed approaches to advocate for, support, and mentor the students, as well as ensure better coordination between teachers, families, the community and other systems involved in the students’ lives. This positon is housed out of the Educational Services Center building, but will support students in schools throughout the district. 

Required Qualifications:

1. A valid Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License
2. The ability to handle many complex tasks simultaneously.
3. The ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team. (Having respected and trusted colleagues, preferably as teammates, makes the demands of teaching sustainable.)
4. The ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on).  
5. A belief in empowering all children as owners of their learning.
