JOB SUMMARY

The CTM Process & Data provides resources and professional development to CTE teachers as well as reporting for industry-based certifications. This position reports to the Executive Director for CTE. This position provides resources for CTE courses, PD opportunities which align with CTE content, and facilitates reporting on industry-based certification completion and submissions into the district’s student information system.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with CTE teachers to provide resources for CTE courses and provide PD opportunities that align with the identified CTE course, developing a process for PD opportunities for all CTE teachers
  • In collaboration with other departments, develops reports which indicate the number of students achieving industry-based certifications in each Program of Study and submission of earned IBCs using the district’s student information system, communicating findings with principals, CTE administrators, and district CTE staff
  • Provide Guidelines for administration of industry-based certification exams and guidelines for inputting industry-based certifications into the district’s student information system.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and organize meetings, workshops, and events, including scheduling, logistics, and materials preparation
  • Regularly engages customers, clients, and end users, including through frequent school visits, to gather personal feedback on the impact of activities and needs.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (depending on the specific requirements of the cross-functional team).

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 3 Years Experience working in cross-functional teams or projects.

SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear and concise information sharing. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within deadlines. Proficiency in relevant software and tools used by the cross-functional team. LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing typically involves monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of same duties they are leading

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.

BUDGET AUTHORITY

No budget development activity is required.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Decisions are made with greater freedom and discretion, including recommendations that are subject to approval on matters that may affect multiple departments across HISD. Job is frequently expected to recommend new solutions to problems, to improve existing methods/procedures/services and generate new ideas. May also review decisions made by other individuals on more routine matters.

Decisions have moderate impact to the facility/department or division, causing increased satisfaction or dissatisfaction; producing efficiencies or delays; promoting or inhibiting personal intellectual or professional development; and/or contributing to financial gain or expense. Regularly assesses and diffuses complex, and escalated customer issues. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for solving systemic customer service problems. Regularly explores alternative and creative solutions to meeting the needs of the customer within HISD's policies and guidelines..

WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements. Ability to carry and/or lift less than 15 pounds.
