ANTICIPATED TIMES: Based on program requirements, initial screening for these positions will take place in in early January 2018, right after the winter break, with interviews scheduled for Friday, January 19, 2018.

ANTICIPATED START DATE: Fall 2018 - Exact date TBD - Based on KSD employee work schedule.

STIPEND: $1,800.00 per month for 10 month assignment / $18,000 per year

ASSIGNMENT: Observing and assisting Kent School District school psychologists to help implement programs to ensure the success of students in the school community. Assist with the assessment of students and documentation of eligibility for special education services and placement.

REQUIREMENTS AND PROCESS:

  1. Must be in a School Psychologist program at a university or college with which Kent School District has an agreement or contract. Talk to your fieldwork-internship coordinator to inquire status with KSD.
  2. Must apply online for the specific paid internship position using the certificated application process. Visit our website at www.kent.k12.wa.us and click on KSD Careers to access our online application. Please note: You must upload all supporting documents prior to applying for a position. Once you apply, your application is “locked.”
  3. Must have a strong interest/desire in working with Kent School District the following school year if offered a position in your certified area.

APPLICATION: Please complete a certificated application in our online application system. Once complete, log-in and go to Position Search on the toolbar. Find the School Psychologist Paid Internship position in the list of available certificated positions. Click on “View Position Details” located to the left of the position title. At the top of the next page is an “Apply for this Position” button. This will enter your name on the list of candidates to be considered for an internship. (The downloadable Request for Placement form is located in the box directly beneath the Apply button.)

A complete application packet for an internship position should include the following items:

  • A completed certificated online application
  • Proof of current fingerprint clearance provided by your university/college. The State of Washington requires that everyone who has contact with students in the school setting be fingerprinted prior to starting their assignments. Individuals will not be allowed into the classroom without proof of clearance of current fingerprints
