About KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools

KIPP Philadelphia Schools (KPPS) is a network of free, public, open-enrollment schools for historically underserved students in Philadelphia, PA. KPPS's vision is to achieve its mission at critical mass – a cluster of schools in Philadelphia – thereby reinvigorating public education in this city through the performance of its students and the leadership of its educators. KPPS currently operates six schools, and plans to expand to ten schools within the next five years, enrolling 4,400 students each year.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced teacher to serve as an Elementary Support Teacher (EST) beginning 2/1/2018. This position will provide critical, flexible support to students and classrooms at KIPP Philadelphia Elementary Academy that will help us ensure that we maximize student learning every day. The EST will spend about half of their time pushing-in to classrooms (providing small group instruction to students who benefit from additional support or enrichment) and half of their time leading engaging lessons and driving classroom instruction as a substitute teacher (in the event of lead teacher absences). The majority of push-in and substitute lead teaching duties will take place within grades K-4. Candidates should note that the EST position offers opportunities for growth; a number of past ESTs at KPEA have gone on to serve as highly successful, permanent lead teachers at the school.
