A dynamic and compassionate family based in Hillsborough, CA is seeking a knowledgeable, passionate, and resourceful private educator for their three children, aged 7, 4, and 3 years old!

This multi-lingual Bay Area family speaks French, Spanish, and Arabic in their home, and their children were attending a Montessori school pre-COVID. All three children are inquisitive, love to learn from their surroundings, and have varying, exciting interests from engineering to dance to writing to human anatomy! The family (and their 1-year-old puppy) has a passion for the outdoors and staying active. The parents have prioritized a holistic approach to learning and inspiring cultural awareness in their children. They are eager to find a private educator who can continue to instill these values and creatively implement an enriching and tailored education as they transition into homeschooling this fall.

This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about both academic growth and the growth of the whole child, from social-emotional learning to child-led interests and project-based learning. The family would love to work with a candidate with specialized skills and interests who would be excited to bring their knowledge to the table, creating individualized weekly lesson plans and complementing activities for each child’s grade level. Foreign language knowledge is very important, as the family would love for their children to continue to learn, write, and develop their language skills. A candidate who not only is knowledgeable in a foreign language, but also has a global appreciation and awareness of other cultures will thrive in this role. An appreciation and/or knowledge of Montessori is a big plus, though the family is open to other methodologies as well. They are seeking a candidate who is confident and knowledgeable while also demonstrating creativity and resourcefulness in seeking out new areas of expertise! A well-rounded, positive, and communicative candidate who can incorporate the family’s travels, the outdoors, and all the Bay Area has to offer will be an asset for years to come in this home.

This is a full-time, live-out position guaranteeing 40 hours per week. The general schedule will fall on Mondays through Fridays from 9am to 3pm with additional hours available depending on the time needed for lesson planning. The family is offering $45+/hour in addition to assistance with healthcare, PTO, sick days, and a museum membership. Driving may be required for this role, and a vehicle will be provided if needed. They hope to have their educator in place by October 2020!

This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US, possess a valid driver’s license and passport, and have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in an education-related field. This family is happy to consider relocation candidates for this position.
