These loving parents and their three children, aged 6, 4, and 1.5 years old, have strived to build a household environment that is warm and filled with curiosity, growth, and learning. Their two oldest children are currently enrolled in a pod school with a small number of families who follow strict COVID safety protocols. Before COVID the children attended a Montessori school, a philosophy that the family has enjoyed implementing in their home; they deeply value fostering independence, encouraging growth in confidence, and child-led, play-based learning (especially outdoors!). Their 1.5-year-old is shy but spirited and loves to explore. The family’s grandparents live next door and have enjoyed jumping in to assist with childcare while the parents work from home. The family has a love for animals as well: they have a cat and dog (the dog lives with their grandparents next door) and several chickens! The family is eager to introduce a rotational nanny who can provide support to their home and add their expertise to the family’s growth-minded home environment.
This position is ideal for a candidate with a passion for bringing an educational bend to day to day routines. A Bachelor’s degree or higher is very important to the family, along with a background in early childhood education. The role will focus primarily on the 1.5-year-old while the older children are attending school; as the family is practicing very safe COVID protocols, the children’s pod school may be canceled on occasion, in which case flexibility to provide support for the older children as well will be appreciated (though please note that the nanny will never have to provide coverage for all three children on their own)! The family is excited to work with a candidate who can provide a balance of structure and flexibility in the children’s routines, who can enrich their lives and activities outside of school with educationally-minded play, and foster the children’s creativity and independence. A pitch-in mentality is also appreciated to jump in and assist with light household tasks, such as heating up pre-prepared meals, tidying common areas, and light pet care for the family’s cat.
This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US, possess a valid driver’s license and passport, and have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in an education-related field. This family is happy to consider relocation candidates for this position.
