The Child Care Programs Manager oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of the three BVSD child care programs: School Age Care (SAC), PreSchool Enrichment (PSE), and Early Connections Infant and Toddler Center (EC). This includes hiring, supervising, training, disciplining and evaluating Supervisors, Assistant Supervisors, and Staff at all preschool, elementary, and PK-8 program sites throughout Boulder Valley School District (BVSD). The Manager is also responsible for supervising the PSE Coordinator, EC Coordinator, and SAC Coordinator and clerical staff whose roles directly support the programmatic functions of child care programs, as determined and directed by the Executive Director.

-Supervise approximately 150 employees. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, supervising, training, disciplining and evaluating Supervisors, Assistant Supervisors, and Staff at all preschool, elementary, and PK-8 program sites throughout Boulder Valley School District (BVSD).
-Assign employees to specific school locations and remediate employee concerns in collaboration with the Executive Director and HR.
-Collaborates with the Executive Director to establish the overall direction for SAC, PSE, and EC child care programs and ensure that direction aligns with the strategic plan, Board policy and regulation, and supports schools, students and their families.
-Responsible for setting clear, written metrics for the success of SAC, PSE, and EC.
-Develops written and transparent operating procedures for staff, families, and students to follow.
-Provide the Executive Director with regular program updates, including an annual evaluation of the program and progress made on identified metrics.
-Oversee and all programmatic aspects of SAC, PSE, and EC child care programs, including staff training and certification, state licensure, curriculum selection and implementation aligned to District (i.e. strategic plan) and department (i.e. ECE for PSE and EC program) goals, and oversight of the substitute pool (in collaboration with HR) for all three programs.
-Collaborates with the Executive Director and colleagues in Community Schools on financial, marketing, and other aspects of child care programs.
-Ensures BVSD child care programs are welcoming and inclusive of all students, their individual needs, and the diverse needs of their families.
-Proactively communicate with families regarding their children on a regular basis.
-Lead the creation and delivery of material about BVSD child care programs on parent information nights, back to school events, conferences, etc.
-Final oversight and responsibility for all SAC, PSE, and EC child care site licensing and employee certification and training records. Ensures all child care sites are current on Colorado State Licensing Rules and Regulations.
-Evaluate SAC, PSE, and EC program compliance and make adjustments when necessary to prevent state licensing violations.
-Develop, implement, and evaluate programmatic and parental procedures in compliance with BVSD, federal and state laws.
-Oversees staff training for SAC, PSE, and EC and works collaboratively with the Coordinators of these three programs to develop and deliver high quality professional development to staff throughout the year.
-Provide training on technology as needed to keep SAC, PSE, and EC staff up-to-date on District software, systems integration, and student database programs.
-Represents BVSD and serves as a liaison with community groups, organizations, child care entities, and state and government agencies to facilitate partnerships and to foster goodwill within the Boulder Valley community.
-Serve as a liaison between school administration, parents and Child Care staff.
-Represent the Child Care Programs at various community outreach facilities, functions, and meetings.
-Perform other duties as assigned.


-Bachelor’s Degree with a major pertinent to the position requirements: Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or School Administration.
-Minimum of five years experience in one or more of the following: large center child care director, child care programs manager, child care, early childhood education, K-12 teaching, or school and/or district administration.
-Must have a valid Colorado driver's license

-Knowledge in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Recreation and best practices including children’s physical, emotional, social and cognitive development as well as children with special needs.
-Knowledge of State of Colorado Child Care Licensing rules and regulations and county health department guidelines and other outside agencies
-Advanced knowledge and skills in managing people, curriculum development, interpersonal relations, training, oral and written communication, and knowledge and skill in classroom management tools.
-Supervisory and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, and BVSD employees.
-Ability to follow School District policies, CDHS School Age Care Program Rules and Regulations, child care policies and school building policies.
