Early Intervention Lead Teacher

The Arc of Union County, Inc. is a non-profit, 501c (3) organization headquartered in Springfield, NJ, dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc serves more than 1,000 adults and children each month from the 21 towns in Union County, as well as the greater Northern and Central NJ counties. The Arc of Union County is affiliated with The Arc of New Jersey and The Arc of the United States. Our programs are licensed by the New Jersey State Departments of Health and The New Jersey Department of Human Services, Developmental Disabilities Licensing.

The agency Preschool Early Education, "Smart Start" program teacher is responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth and development of all children in their care. To develop partnerships with parents/child’s caregivers to engage and encourage parent participation in program. The Lead Teacher is also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and local governing contracting agencies and adheres to all Arc of Union policies and procedures.

EDUCATION: · Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education; 2 years teaching experience

SKILLS & ABILITIES: Early Child Development knowledge and experience, Knowledge of Creative and Core Knowledge Curriculum, Ability to effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities, Ability to respect diversity, Tolerance for different learning abilities, Excellent listening skills; Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40 pound child.

This position operates in an indoor and or outside fieldwork setting where exposure to weather elements, dirt, and dust, unpleasant smells, and/or loud noises are possible indoor temperature fluctuation on occasion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour
