POSITION DESCRIPTION: Career & Technical Education Counselor

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt; Salary based on Board-approved Certified Salary Schedule

REPORTS TO: High School Principal

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The TOSA provides leadership for the Career & Technical Educational (CTE) programs and will develop, schedule, and deliver career information and related support services to CTE students and staff; monitor student progress through the Education Career Action Plan (ECAP) process to ensure all related ADE requirements are complete; and serve as a liaison with Central Arizona Valley Institute of Technology (CAVIT), Central Arizona College (CAC), and other post-secondary schools to facilitate communication of information related to CTE students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to perform the following physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation: critical sensory requirements include general vision, corrected to 20/20, hear or listen in the normal range (corrected) and speak and give directions clearly. Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift (exerting force up to 50 pounds), carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 125 lbs.

REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

Arizona Department of Education Certification as Teacher or Counselor must be received prior to the start of employment.
