This outdoorsy, travel-loving family has been working hard to turn their land just outside of Atlanta into a self-sustainable, biodynamic operation. Their girls are thriving being involved in working the ranch, playing in nature, and caring for the animals (including dogs, horses, chickens, and bunnies)! They are avid travelers and own several homes throughout Europe, and have raised their children speaking multiple languages, including French, Italian, Greek, and Spanish. The girls have been attending an international school studying the IB curriculum. Their 11-year-old is bright, enjoys using her math skills in the kitchen while cooking, and hopes for an educator who can help develop her organizational skills. Their 8.5-year-old is clever with some focus challenges; she thrives on extra patience and learning through her interests. Their 6-year-old does well with play-based learning and positive reinforcement and is continuing to develop her knowledge around reading, letters, and numbers. Their parents are excited to introduce a private educator who can inspire a love for learning in their children and create a strong foundation of confidence so their girls can grow into independent thinkers and learners!

The ideal candidate for this position will be a flexible team player, ready to travel with the family on extended trips throughout the year, to jump in and provide an extra set of hands where needed, and to adapt to the shifting day-to-day routines. A background in education is essential, as well as experience and confidence in teaching children of varying ages, and excitement to travel with and teach children abroad. Knowledge of the international baccalaureate curriculum, and openness to collaborate with parents and the international school will be valued. A background in the Steiner or Montessori approaches will be a huge plus as the children thrive on project-based, interest-lead learning rather than textbook learning. As the family speaks several languages, they would love for their children to continue their studies in French at the minimum, so a candidate with French knowledge will be a huge plus, or an openness to collaborate with a French tutor and implement French into the curriculum. While the primary focus of this role will be the girls’ education, the family would love to find a candidate who can be a positive, caring role model (such as inspiring the girls through play and to pitch in around the home). Very occasional meal prep for the children (healthy meals with limited sugar and no processed foods) will be greatly appreciated. A candidate with patience, creativity to think outside of the box, and a passion for inspiring children and fostering independent thinking and learning will thrive in this role!

This is a full-time, live-in position based near Atlanta, GA with extensive travel opportunities in the future when it is safe to do so. Live-in accommodations while at home will include a private bedroom and ensuite bathroom on the family’s beautiful ranch, and accommodations will be provided during travel as well. The position offers 40-50 hours/week, and the family is happy to discuss an ideal schedule with their perfect candidate upon hire. Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time will be essential. The family is offering $30/hour and an annualized earning potential of $65k-75k. They are open to discussing the compensation package further based on expertise and qualifications and are also offering additional benefits including relocation assistance, healthcare stipend, paid time off, and sick days. Driving will be required for this role and a vehicle will be provided. The position will begin in July/August 2020!
