Based in the beautiful mountain town of Truckee, CA, this family, along with their friendly goldendoodle, has a deep love for the outdoors and outdoor activities. They recently relocated from the Bay Area to Lake Tahoe to make the most of quarantine and prioritize their time together as a family, especially in the great outdoors! Their 3-year-old is bright and active with a very outgoing personality, while their 5-year-old is a budding scientist and artist. He’s been enjoying distance learning at the kindergarten level (though will be returning to in-person school later this year) and taking care of his pet bearded dragon [lizard]. Their (almost) 8-year-old is energetic and creative and loves to stay active with sports. He is attending in-person classes and thrives with social interaction. The whole family is eager to find a creative and engaging nanny who can create a fun-filled, enriching environment for the children.
This position is ideal for a candidate who loves the great outdoors, as the family lives in a rural mountain town with plenty of hikes and ski slopes nearby, along with beautiful Lake Tahoe! The position will focus primarily on their 3-year-old while her older siblings are in school; she loves to learn and is drawn to art, so creating an enriching learning environment will be at the heart of this role. Other day-to-day tasks may include assisting with distance learning if required (the children’s grandmother is a Kindergarten teacher and is currently supporting their 5-year-old), preparing lunches for the kids and basic meal prep for family dinners, assisting with potty training. The family will value a candidate with an all-hands-on-deck mentality to tackle various family assisting and household tasks such as running errands, general tidying, and traveling with the family as needed. A candidate who is passionate about early childhood education and opportunities for outdoor exploration in Truckee, whether hitting the slopes or paddle boarding on the lake, will thrive in this role.
This is a full-time live-in or live-out position of 40-50 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Mondays through Fridays from 8am to 5pm. Flexibility for evening, weekend, overnights, and travel will be asked and appreciated. If live-in, accommodations include a private bedroom and ensuite bath in a separate and private area of the family’s home. The family is offering $30-$35+/hour in addition to relocation assistance, a healthcare stipend, PTO, and sick days. Driving will be required for this role and a vehicle will be provided (must be comfortable driving in the winters). The family hopes for a start date in mid-October, but is flexible for the perfect candidate!
This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US and possess a valid driver’s license and passport.
