This delightful family, along with their English bulldog and Guinea pig, describes themselves as loud, fun, and inclusive, and look forward to spending the next year with wide-open spaces in Connecticut! Their four children, aged 12, 10, 8, and 6 years old, are all inquisitive and eager to learn, always up for an adventure, and very loving. They all currently attend a private school that will be practicing a combination of in-person and distance learning this year. The family is seeking a proactive and positive nanny who can be a pillar of support as they navigate the new COVID-school world, be a positive role model, and be a valued asset to the inner-runnings of the home.
This position is ideal for a candidate who enjoys making every opportunity an engaging learning moment. The family is seeking a nanny who can support the children’s distance learning, taking the lead in dissecting, pacing, and executing lessons provided by the school primarily for the kindergartener. For the older children, managing and supervising their school work will be essential, so past tutoring experience is a tremendous plus! Taking the children outside for an adventure, and helping to reinforce age-appropriate self-disciplines for each child around the home will help support the family. Mom is excited to partner with their nanny to divide and conquer the day-to-day so everyone in their home feels supported. A background in education such as teaching or tutoring is highly preferred, while a passion for educating and providing an enriching learning environment is key! Experience with ADD/ADHD is also preferred, as well as confidence in overseeing upper elementary math. A candidate who is organized, mature, silly, and a kind leader who is able to set and maintain boundaries and limits will be a valued and essential piece to this family.
This is a full-time live-in or live-out position of 40+ hours per week with the general schedule falling on through Fridays from 8am to 4pm. If live-in, accommodations will include a guest house on the family’s property. The family is offering $30-$35+/hr depending on experience and are happy to discuss additional benefits such as relocation assistance, assistance with healthcare, PTO, and sick days. Driving is required for this role and a vehicle will be provided. The family is seeking at least a 1-year contract and are planning to relocate next year; they will be happy to discuss the potential to extend the contract and have their nanny relocate with them should this be desired by both parties!
This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US and possess a valid driver’s license. This family is happy to consider relocation candidates for this position. Out of respect for the privacy of the families we work with, we cannot provide any additional information about this position other than what has already been provided in the job description.
