A bustling family of five in the Bay Area is seeking a creative, active, and warm nanny for their three children, aged 6.5, 4, and 1 year old!

Based in Atherton, CA, these professional, dual-career parents have fostered a nurturing, fun-filled atmosphere in their home for their growing children, along with their sweet golden retriever! The older children attend school and various activities throughout the week while their loving 1-year-old enjoys educational play and walks with the family dog. With many moving pieces and various schedules, the family deeply values punctuality and organization in order to ensure there’s still plenty of room for quality family time. This family has had great experiences with nannies in their home, and they are excited to find an engaging nanny to contribute to the enrichment and growth of their children!

The ideal candidate for this position will have a keen eye for finding learning and growth opportunities throughout the day to day and will be excited to foster childhood learning through play! The family would love to have a nanny who can work with the children on their academics, socialization, behavior, and helping them discover their independence. A passion for early childhood education, a sense of creativity to teach through play, and an active, energetic spirit to play sports and other activities will all come in handy! In addition, having a proactive, punctual, and team-oriented mindset will be deeply valued in this home; pitching in with general tidying, running an occasional errand, and light pet care as needed will be appreciated. The family hopes for a candidate who can prepare healthy, well-rounded meals for the children (willingness to provide family-wide meal prep is a huge plus but not required!).

Position Details

• Hours/Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40-50 hours per week. The schedule will fall on Mondays through Fridays, with general working hours occurring between 7:30am and 5:30pm. Flexibility for additional hours, evenings, and travel will be asked and appreciated with advance notice.
• Live-in/Live-Out: Live-out. The family is open to providing temporary live-in accommodations for the first few months for relocation candidates.
• Compensation and Benefits: The family is offering $35-40/hr depending on experience. The family is happy to discuss additional benefits including a healthcare stipend, relocation assistance, and PTO based on candidate need.
• Start date: The position will begin on or before March 1, 2021.
• Other Notes: Driving is required for this role and a vehicle will be provided while on duty.

Responsibilities

• Interact educationally and creatively with active and curious children
• Promote positive behavior and good manners
• Act in a firm-loving, warm way towards children when setting boundaries and expectations
• Collaborate with parents to provide consistency of care and discipline
• Provide age-appropriate learning opportunities for young children
• Prepare healthy, well-rounded meals for the children (willingness to provide family-wide meal prep is a huge plus but not required!)
• Pitch in with various household tasks including walking the dog, general tidying, and the occasional errand
• Flexibility to travel with the family up to 2 – 4 weeks annually!

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional, full-time childcare experience
• Valid driver’s license and passport
• Bachelor’s degree or higher is a plus
• A proactive, organized, pitch-in mindset
• Passion for helping young children learn and grow emotionally and academically
  Proven longevity in previous positions with a commitment to a career in childcare
  A creative and energetic caregiving approach
• COVID-conscious and willing to take necessary precautions to protect self and family
• Dog friendly!

This family is happy to consider relocation candidates for this position and will be prioritizing west coast-based candidates.
