Hanover Central High School is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Head Boys Basketball Coach and is looking for an individual to continue building our program while serving as a true leader/mentor to our student-athletes. We believe that the Head Basketball Coach position at Hanover Central has many positives to offer.

Hanover Central HS is currently a 3A school with a total enrollment of just over 740 students located in the growing community of Cedar Lake, IN. We are a proud member of the Greater South Shore Conference (GSSC) which includes the following schools: Bishop Noll, Calumet, Griffith, Lake Station, River Forest, Wheeler, Whiting.

Job Description:

  • The Varsity Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Hanover Central Boys Basketball Program from grades 6-12 and developing a program skills ladder to be put in place.
  • The Varsity Boys Basketball Coach is to be an exemplary role model for student-athletes, Hanover Central High School, the community and the school corporation.
  • The successful candidate will be required to adhere to all local, state and federal laws, School Board policies, administrative directives and the rules and regulations set forth by the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) and the standards of ethical conduct for interscholastic athletic team programs.
  • The successful candidate should have a clear understanding of what education based athletics is about and the life skills that can be taught through the sport of basketball.

Excellent communication, educational/athletic leadership and management skills; a valid Indiana teaching license (preferred), previous coaching experience the high school and/or collegiate level.

Salary: $7,292.00 per year
