St. Ignatius School, a pre-K-8th grade Catholic School, in SE Portland founded by Mother Mary Rose of the Holy Names Sisters and Jesuit priests. St. Ignatius School has been educating students with a Jesuit influence for over 100 years. St. Ignatius School fosters eager minds, passionate hearts, enthusiastic spirits, and brilliant futures for all students. St. Ignatius School promotes educating the whole student in partnership with families. Currently, St. Ignatius School seeks a full time middle school math teacher for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels and accelerated math classes with a passion for teaching early adolescents.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and implement lessons in accordance with Oregon state and Archdiocesan standards.
Create engaging, differentiated lessons and activities that develop student critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Evaluate and assess student performance and progress.
Establish a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement.
Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing an optimal and safe learning environment.
Enhance curriculum by developing lessons that utilize technology.
Collaborate with the middle school team of teachers.
Willing to teach an elective on student leadership.
Willing to serve the school in other capacities as needed.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Must hold a current Oregon Teaching License.
Math endorsement or experience preferred.
