Elementary Classroom Teacher

Description:

New England Hebrew Academy of Brookline is an established Jewish day school for many decades providing a rich Judaic and secular education for grades 1 through 6.  A typical school day is from 8:30am-4:00pm.  Each day is structured with roughly 3.5 hours of religious Jewish studies and 3.5 hours of secular education including: ELA, math, science, and social studies.

We are seeking to fill three part-time positions of secular education teachers in grades: 2, 5, and 6. 

Candidates may also apply for a full-time position which would entail teaching two of the above grades over the course of one day.

Qualifications

• Classroom teaching experience
• Fluent in English
• Work permit and ability to work in the US
• Access to reliable commute

Responsibilities

• Teach ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies in a 3.5 hr daily block
• Supervise recess and/or lunch
• Monday-Friday, either 8:30am-12:30pm or 12:00pm-4:00pm

Benefits

• $22k-$35k ten month salary commensurate with education and experience
• Half-day position (full-time option available- see description)
