The 27J Preschool Program is seeking 2 ECSE teachers to work at Bright Beginnings Intensive Flex (IF) Preschool Program, located in the Bob Sakata Campus in Brighton, CO. The IF Preschool Program serves SSN students, students with autism, and typical peers through the Universal Preschool Program (UPK).

One ECSE position requires collaboration with other IF teachers at Bright Beginnings to provide fluid movement of SSN students between the IF classrooms and typical classrooms.  This is a very unique position housed in a preschool only location with a highly collaborative, veteran, and effective team!  This is a preschool only location which supports the development of early childhood educators through specific and targeted professional development and has a full time support team which includes a full time, on site school psychologist, speech language pathologists and an occupational therapist.

The other ECSE teacher will partner with the Intensive Flex ECSE. The IF Preschool Program serves SSN students, students with autism, and typical peers through the Universal Preschool Program (UPK). This position's main instructional responsibilities are for typically developing students and is anchored in academic standards and kindergarten readiness skills.


  • Experience in providing children from birth to age 5 with direct instruction, assessment and family intervention.
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other agencies in providing family support systems for high-risk  families
  • Knowledge and/or experience in developing, organizing and implementing preschool programming for children 3-5 with and without disabilities, high risk language delayed children, and children with special needs as a part of a teacher team, utilizing the High Scope Curriculum Model


  1. A valid CDE Certificate/License in Early Childhood Special Education. 
  2. Knowledge and/or experience in assessment and prescriptive teaching in planning specific developmentally appropriate curricular goals/activities for children with the ability to develop and organize carry-over activities for children with follow-up support for parents
  3. Willingness to complete necessary requirements as a part of the Colorado Preschool Project
  4. The ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team. (Having respected and trusted colleagues, preferably as teammates, makes the demands of teaching sustainable.)
  5. Ability to provide leadership/training/and supervision to group leaders in the implementation of curriculum.
  6. The ability to handle many complex tasks simultaneously.
  7. The ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on).  
  8. A belief in empowering all children as owners of their learning.
  9. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  10. ESL experience or training preferred
  11. CPR Certification preferred
