POSITION: Senior Manager, Instructional Leadership Development

LOCATION: DSST Public Schools: Home Office in Denver, CO

SALARY: $78,000 - $87,360 with up to six years of aligned experience. We also offer a relocation stipend for anyone joining us from 75 miles or more from Denver!

STATUS: Full time, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position

START: July 1, 2024

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

DSST Public Schools (DSST) is seeking a Senior Manager of Instructional Leadership Development to play a pivotal role in enhancing the instructional leadership capabilities across our network. This individual will be instrumental in supporting our instructional leadership teams, implementing systems that support effective coaching practices, and ensuring that our educators have access to high-quality professional growth opportunities, resources, and support systems in order to support our desired student outcomes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Support Instructional Leadership Teams

  • Provide strategic guidance and support to instructional leadership teams across the network to ensure alignment with DSST’s desired outcomes and teaching and learning strategies.

  • Develop and facilitate professional development sessions aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of instructional leaders.

  • Collaborate with school leaders to identify needs and implement tailored support plans to strengthen instructional leadership practices.

Implement Coaching Practices

  • Lead the development and implementation of a coaching model that supports teachers' professional growth and improves instructional practices.

  • Build out a new coach onboarding plan that supports the development and ongoing support of new instructional coaches

  • Train instructional leaders and coaches in effective coaching techniques and practices that are grounded in research and proven to impact teaching and learning positively.

  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices and resources across the network to promote a culture of collaborative professional learning.

Network-wide Support, Collaboration, and Progress Monitoring

  • Work closely with other members of the Schools and Academic Leadership Team to ensure coherence and alignment of instructional leadership development initiatives with curricular frameworks and teaching standards.

  • Collaborate with content teams to ensure coaches are receiving on-the-ground, content-based support implementing instructional coaching PD

  • Participate in the design and implementation of systems and processes for monitoring the impact of instructional leadership practices on teacher effectiveness and student learning outcomes.

  • Engage in regular data review and analysis to inform strategic decisions and adjust support strategies as necessary.

Additional Duties:

  • Play an active leadership role in building and sustaining Home Office culture

  • Engage with our school communities to actively build relationships between our schools and the home office

  • Participate in & support the execution of Home Office & Network-wide events


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required

  • 5+ years experience as a 6-12 educator in urban schools and/or communities

  • 3+ years experience as an instructional leader (preferred experience leading an instructional leader team)

  • Experience at a high-performing charter school highly preferred but not required

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color, students with disabilities, and/or multilingual students

  • 7+ years of experience in education (classroom experience required)

  • 3+ years of experience in school leadership or central office or network leadership

  • Ample classroom experience and a diverse range of leadership roles within the school setting (e.g., department lead, coaching roles, vice-principal), showcasing a creative and entrepreneurial approach in teacher training and program development.
