POSITION: STEM Elective Teacher

GRADE LEVEL: Hiring for both middle school and high school positions

SALARY: $52,000-$70,000 based on aligned years of experience up to 10 years, for the remainder of the 23-24 school year (through 6/30/2024.) Please note that the 2024-2025 salary range for this position will be increasing to $58,000-$76,000 on 7/1/2024. We also offer a relocation stipend for anyone joining us from 75 miles or more from Denver as well as other stipend opportunities.

STATUS: Full time, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

AT DSST, our teachers play an integral role in ensuring student success by fostering the development of essential skills such as resilience and critical thinking, developing project based learning experiences, and building strong relationships with students. In our STEM electives program, students connect their studies to the world as they solve real and urgent problems for industry and their community.

This STEM Elective role is flexible and could result in teaching any of the following content areas based on the new hires strengths and preferences:

  • Computer Science

  • BioScience

  • Engineering

  • Entrepreneurial Studies

DSST Teacher Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead a daily Advisory Class to a group of 15-18 students

  • Teach 3-5 classes a day depending on the DSST campus and subject area

  • Use the network’s curriculum and standards to plan and implement targeted lessons and assessments for each student including differentiating for the needs of all learners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree
