POSITION: SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Deliver appropriate psychological services to students in the school district through psychological evaluations, individual and group interventions, behavioral observations and consultations; maintain a professional relationship with school personnel, families and community agents to promote better educational programs.

QUALIFICATION: Valid Georgia S6 certification in School Psychology

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  1. Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
  2. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and materials; adheres to the chain of command.
  3. Complies with school, system, state and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics, as related to job
  4. Assess individual student’s needs, limitations and potential, using a variety of assessment methods, resulting in a reporting of both quantitative and qualitative
  5. Select, administer and score psychological tests under standard conditions in a timely manner so that compliance requirements are
  6. Maintain student records, including special education reports and confidential reports, in a secure location.
  7. Prepare psychological evaluations and eligibility
  8. Provide consultation to parents, teachers, other school personnel and community agencies to enhance learning and adjustment of students (g. classroom observations, providing feedback, participating in Student Support meetings, assisting in collaborative problem-solving, etc.).
  9. Communicate effectively with students, parents and school
  10. Attend meetings related to students (e.g. eligibility, evaluations, placement, ).
  11. Attend staff, professional and interagency
  12. Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of the job responsibilities; performs routine duties and responsibilities with little or no direct
