INSTRUCTIONAL LEADER (K-5)

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with creating scopes and sequences from curricula and provide supplemental materials that align with PA Standards Aligned Systems.
• Provides daily guidance and support to classroom teachers in the full implementation of the school's adopted math and literacy programs and MTSS programming through conceptual understanding of teaching strategies, assessment of math and literacy skills, and data analysis of formative assessments to inform instructional practices.
• Provides information and training on a range of innovative and data-driven pedagogical practices through various activities (i.e. individual discussions, coaching sessions, demonstration lessons with pre- and post- discussion/analysis, and study groups.
• Assists teachers in building an interactive classroom and assures their recommendations for improvement are employed.
• Conducts demonstration lessons to ensure that all teachers have been coached at an advanced level to deliver instruction in accordance with the scope and sequence and are using the instructional materials provided.
• Deliver some small group instruction to the highest needs students as needed.
• Serves as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve engagement and achievement for all students.
• Facilitate collaborative grade level meetings and Professional Learning Communities to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data, improve pacing of instruction and drive student achievement.
• Assist Academy Leader with teacher performance and improvement plans and provide progress monitoring.
• Attend conferences to gain knowledge on current educational trends and best practices.

Job Requirements

• Valid and current Pennsylvania Teacher Certification in Elementary Education
• Valid and current Pennsylvanica Principal Certification  
• 3 + years recent experience employing highly effective teaching methods in grades K-5 using the Danielson Framework for Teaching.
• 2 + years of coaching experience
• Knowledge and understanding of the Common Core State Standards for Math, English Language Arts and Science
• Current clearances (FBI, Child Abuse, Criminal, Mandated Reporter and TB Test)
• In the event that the need arises, you will need to be able to: lift, pull or push up to 15 lbs, walk a standard flight of stairs, or stand or sit for up to 45 minutes
