Job Description

A+ Virtual Learning is seeking certified and licensed New York State teachers to provide high-quality virtual instruction to K–12 students across New York. Our instructional model is built on the 5 Pillars of A+ Virtual Learning: High Engagement, Multiple Modalities, Deep Content Engagement, Application & Inquiry, and Collaboration.

We are hiring educators who can bring learning to life in a virtual environment and deliver instruction aligned to NYSED Standards and district expectations.
Only New York State Certified Teachers will be considered.

Key Qualifications

• Valid New York State Teacher Certification in one or more of the following areas:
• Childhood Education (K–6)
• ELA (5–12)
• Math (5–12)
• Social Studies / Global / U.S. History
• Living Environment, Earth Science, Chemistry, or Physics
• Students with Disabilities (Special Education)
• Strong content knowledge aligned to NYSED Standards and Regents expectations (NGLS for ELA & Math).
• Demonstrated ability to effectively engage students in a virtual setting using multiple modalities (visuals, modeling, discussion, guided practice, digital tools).
• Ability to maintain high student engagement and manage classroom behavior virtually.
• Self-starter who thrives with independent planning, collaboration, and professional communication.
• Experience with virtual learning platforms—or willingness to learn them quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver rigorous, engaging, multimodal instruction aligned to the 5 Pillars of A+ Virtual Learning.
• Maintain high student engagement using interactive tools, clear routines, and inquiry-based activities.
• Support students from diverse backgrounds, including multilingual learners and students with IEPs.
• Collaborate with co-teachers, case managers, and school personnel as needed.
• Complete all required documentation, grading, attendance, and communication in a timely manner.
• Participate in coaching and professional development aligned to A+’s instructional framework.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday.
• Must be available during school hours (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM).
• Flexible scheduling based on district assignment.
• Classes are delivered live in virtual classrooms.

Compensation

• $30.00 – $40.00 per hour
• 1099 Contract Position
• Part-time, Contract
