Job Description

Huntington Learning Center – Melbourne is seeking passionate and knowledgeable SAT, ACT, English or Reading experts, High School ELA teachers to join our team as part-time prep tutors and teachers to help students excel on the SAT and ACT exams. In this dynamic role, you will inspire students to excel in standardized tests and reading comprehension through engaging instruction and innovative teaching techniques helping them unlock their academic potential. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about literacy, critical reading, test strategy and who enjoy making a measurable impact through one-on-one instruction. As a vital member of our educational community, you will deliver tailored tutoring sessions that boost confidence and foster academic success.

As an SAT/ACT/Reading and writing tutor, you will guide students in mastering reading comprehension, grammar and language conventions, vocabulary in context, writing mechanics, and verbal reasoning skills that are essential for standardized test success. All instruction takes place in a structured, supportive environment using Huntington’s proven curriculum, no lesson planning or take-home work required.

Qualifications

✔ Bachelor’s degree required (English, Education, Reading, Humanities, or related field preferred)

✔ Teaching certification a plus

✔ Strong background in ELA, reading instruction, or literacy development

✔ Experience with SAT/ACT preparation or other standardized exams is highly desirable

✔ Excellent ability to explain complex reading and language concepts clearly and engagingly.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized SAT/ACT ELA instruction focused on reading comprehension, grammar, writing, and verbal reasoning

• Teach effective test-taking strategies specific to SAT and ACT ELA sections

• Help students analyze passages, improve accuracy, and manage time efficiently
