STANISLAUS COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION
CLASS TITLE: Project Coordinator, MTSS
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of a Director, plan, organize and deliver services in the SCOE service area with a focus on
MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support). Develop and deliver staff development training to teachers and other
school staff. Serve as a resource to school districts and SCOE in the area of MTSS.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Plan, organize, develop, and deliver workshops and trainings throughout the County in the area of MTSS to
support systemic changes and continuous improvement for educational outcomes.
Provide leadership for use of evidence-based practices to school-site teams.
Collaborate on the development and writing of professional development training materials.
Act as a resource to school districts in the areas of selecting academic, behavioral, social emotional, and mental
health screening, supports, and interventions.
Provide guidance to schools in evaluating and selecting evidence- based practices and systems.
Coach school-site teams and individual staff members in implementing MTSS with fidelity.
Consult with school site teams to plan, organize, and implement PBIS and integrated MTSS.
Prepare and maintain a variety of reports, records, and files related to assigned activities and trainings.
Represent SCOE at assigned district, regional, state, and national meetings, and conferences.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Educational research in implementing behavioral and academic MTSS.
Curriculum and staff development planning, including group facilitation process.
Current K-12 education practices.
Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
ABILITY TO:
Plan, organize, coordinate, and deliver staff development in-service throughout the region.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Work independently with little direction. Facilitate the group process.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Meet schedules and time lines.
Complete work with many interruptions.
Prepare and present oral and written presentation.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
At least 3 years of experience in K-12 settings; Experience training groups of 30 people or more.
BA degree in Social Services or Psychology or related field is desirable. Experience in educational programs in
curriculum or staff development is desirable; leadership experience is desirable; knowledge of MTSS is
desirable.
LICENSE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Desired: license in the state of California as either a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Clinical
Social Worker (LCSW) or Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC); or
Pupil Personnel Services: School Counseling and/or School Psychology or valid California teaching credential.
Required to provide own transportation. If using own vehicle in the course of employment, must have valid
driver’s license and proof of insurance.
