ELA/MATH SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER, GRADES K-3 (IMMEDIATE OPENING)
Terms of Employment: 10-month, Full-time Employee
Reports to: Building Principal
Salary: Current Approved Odyssey Charter School Salary Scale

Qualifications/Experience Required:
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Delaware License and Special Education Teacher Certification and Elementary Standard Teacher Certificate K-6
- Must demonstrate a firm knowledge of special education laws and requirements
- Exceptional classroom management, organization, planning, and instructional delivery of research-based interventions
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop daily and unit ELA and Math lesson plans that are goal-oriented, aligned with curriculum and incorporates evidence-based strategies for students with disabilities while accounting for student differences in learning
- Effectively support a caseload of students receiving special education services offering access to the general education curricula through adaptations outlined in the student"s IEP.
- Develop and support the implementation of an Individual Education Plans (IEP) based on state and federal regulations
- Creates a safe and engaging classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students.
- Collect and use data to monitor the progress of student"s goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers to provide access to content standards and materials for a student receiving special education services
- Effectively plan, organize, and implement instructional practices by collaborating with the general education
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction using research-based best practices
- Provide equitable access for students with disabilities through instructional and behavioral supports
- Remain up to date with best practices for creating and implementing IEPs
- Maintain an open line of communication with families about student progress regularly
- Performs other duties as assigned
