Position: Teacher – Elementary Summer Literacy Academy (22 openings)
- 9 Kindergarten Teachers
- 4 First Grade Teachers
- 4 Second grade Teachers
- 5 Third grade Teachers
Reports to: Elementary Summer Literacy Academy Principals, Director of Student Learning and Literacy
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- Hold a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or Reading
Specialist certificate.
- Completed LETRS or IMSE Orton-Gillingham training to teach 1st-3rd grade Literacy Academy.
- Satisfy all district requirements regarding physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goals: To provide intensive remediation in reading to Kindergarten through Third grade students.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual reading needs of the students.
- Provide individual and/or small group instruction using specific intervention materials.
- Monitor progress and maintain tracking documents to show growth.
- Administer Amira Reading or Literacy First Assessment at end of the program.
Terms of Employment: Jenks Public Schools Temporary Assignment Contract - June 1 - June 25, 2026; Monday-Thursday, 8:30am -12:30pm. **Dates subject to change pending Board approval of last day of school.
Compensation: Stipend - $2,250.00
*Required Summer Program in-service trainings will be conducted for staff prior to the program starting date; Dates and times TBD.
