Job Summary The Middle School Science Teacher at Christ the King Catholic School is responsible for delivering engaging, inquiry‑based science instruction that supports students’ academic development while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills. This role promotes a faith-centered learning environment by integrating Catholic values into classroom instruction and supporting the mission of the school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and deliver standards‑aligned science instruction in middle school, including topics such as life science, physical science, earth science, and scientific inquiry.
Develop hands‑on lessons, labs, and activities that promote critical thinking, experimentation, and exploration.
Integrate Catholic teachings and values into science instruction where appropriate, emphasizing ethical reasoning and respect for creation.
Create and maintain a structured, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that supports active student learning.
Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and academic needs.
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional decisions.
Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and behavior in accordance with school policies.
Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress and expectations.
Collaborate with faculty, administration, and support staff to support student learning and school initiatives.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, liturgical celebrations, and school events.
Adhere to all school policies, diocesan guidelines, and professional expectations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field (required).
Teaching certification or eligibility (preferred).
Experience teaching middle school science (preferred).
Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills.
Ability to engage students through hands‑on learning and inquiry‑based instruction.
Commitment to Catholic education and support of the mission of Christ the King Catholic School.
