Description:
Link children with the futures they deserve. Our intentionally small and community-focused independent charter school is seeking a group leader. This individual would join our dedicated team of professionals who have been ‘linking’ academics, values, and community since 2005. Our community seeks a team player to engage families and students, staff and support the day-to-day operations of Harlem Link After All Program. The After All group leader will report to the Director of After School Programs & Special Projects

Under the umbrella of our After All program, we offer a variety of after school & summer camp options to ensure our students have a fun, safe, and enriching space in the afternoons. These activities are offered as an extension of the school day, and include options for personalized tutoring, STEAM hands-on learning, Dance, Music, Drama & Theater, Arts & Craft, Junior Master Chef and Fitness & Movement. For the Summer of 2025, Harlem Link is excited to expand its on-site program to offer a greater number of daily academic and club activities for our Kindergarten through 5th Grade at no cost to families.
Responsibilities
Supervise and support assigned student groups during all activities, ensuring a safe, positive, and engaging environment.
Implement daily schedules and lesson plans as provided, adapting as needed to meet group needs.
Manage classroom and behavior expectations, using positive reinforcement and Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
Collaborate with team members including Activities Specialists, Program Coordinators, and other Group Leaders to ensure smooth program operation.
Lead and participate in group trips, ensuring student safety and proper behavior during travel and outings.
Support students’ social and emotional development by fostering inclusivity, teamwork, and respectful interactions.
Attend staff meetings, training, and planning sessions as required
Qualifications
All candidates must be:
At least 1-2 years experience with youth, working in afterschool, DOE, camp, or charter school role
Must be able to engage in crisis-intervention activities and demonstrate, lead, and teach a range of group activities
Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with a wide range of staff and departments
Ability to teach a wide range of dance styles
Must be reliable and punctual

Fluent in Spanish and/or French;
Timeframe and Compensation
The Group Leader is a Part-Time summer position, working at our campus 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, between 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Some additional or evening hours may be requested with advanced notice for events, field trips, and school breaks, and further hours for training may be agreed to and approved in advance by employee and supervisor.
This is a part-time hourly position with pay of $20hr. Benefits are provided in accordance with school policy.
