POSITION: Dually Certified Teacher B/C Classroom Setting
START DATE: 2026-2027 School Year
Certification: Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Teacher Certification in Special Education and in Elementary Education
Qualifications: Clean Criminal Background Check, Child Protection Registry and TB Clearance required prior to employment

Additional Information:
B/C Classroom teachers provide more specialized instruction to students with intensive educational and behavioral needs, who may require significant modifications to their curriculum and a higher level of support
Responsibilities:
- Teaches assigned classes using the educational philosophy and policies adopted by the Board of Education.
- Utilizes State and District curriculum guidelines in carrying out teaching assignments.
- Uses available resources, plans and implements a program of study that meets students" needs, interests, and abilities.
- Provides a standards-based, content aligned learning framework that establishes clear goals and objectives for all lessons and assignments.
- Interprets and uses data from a variety of educational sources for the improvement of instruction.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides reports as required, as well as notifying parents of student progress when necessary.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Recognizes the importance of parent/guardian and teacher cooperation and confers with parents as appropriate.
- Collaborates with the student support team to support students" academic, behavioral and mental health needs.
- Maintains a professional relationship, working cooperatively with all school personnel.
- Meets responsibilities as per contractual agreement and State law.
- Participates actively in professional growth activities, collaborative groups and Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
- Encourages students to behave in accordance with classroom and school rules.
- Performs other duties as requested by administration to meet the needs of the students.
