Summary

An Interventionist plays a role in supporting school students who are struggling with literacy and/or math skills.  This position is responsible for providing targeted intervention and support to help students improve their literacy and math skills, ultimately fostering their academic success and confidence as learners.

 

  1. Intervention Delivery:
    1. Provide small group push-in or pull-out intervention sessions to students identified as needing additional support in literacy and/or math.
    2. Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions to target specific areas of need.
    3. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including English language learners and students with disabilities.
  2. Progress Monitoring:
    1. Monitor and track students’ progress regularly through ongoing assessments, observations, and data analysis.
    2. Adjust intervention plans based on student progress and response to intervention, ensuring continuous improvement and growth.
  3. Collaboration and Communication:
    1. As a member of the RTI (Response to Intervention) team, interventionists will collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other school personnel to coordinate intervention services and support student learning.
    2. Communicate regularly with classroom teachers to provide updates on student progress, discuss intervention strategies, and provide resources for supporting literacy and/or math skill development at home.
  4. Professional Development:
    1. Stay current with research-based practices and interventions in literacy and/or math instruction.
      Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in literacy/math intervention, data analysis, and instructional strategies.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    1. Maintain accurate records of intervention sessions, assessments, and student progress data.
    2. Prepare progress reports and documentation for intervention plans.
  6. Classroom Support:
    1. Provide support to classroom teachers in implementing literacy/math instruction, including modeling strategies and providing resources and materials.
    2. Assist in the selection and implementation of RTI literacy/math curricula, materials, and resources to support differentiated instruction and student engagement.
  7. Maintain the Highest Standards of Professionalism:
    1. Demonstrate positive work habits by showing initiative, cooperation, dependability, efficiency, and productivity.
    2. Follow the guidelines of confidentiality as established by the school district.
    3. Perform in a professional manner when interacting with students, parents, faculty, administration, and co-workers.
    4. Performs similar or related work as required, directed, or as the situation dictates.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Literacy, Mathematics, Special Education, or a related field; experience working with school-age students in literacy and/or math instruction; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Must possess a valid NH DOE Certification. Elementary Education, ESOL, English, Mathematics, Reading Specialist, or Math Specialist preferred.

  

Salary and Benefits:

This is a grant-funded role paid at an hourly rate; non-benefited.
