Description:
Job Title: Rice County Parents as Teachers Administrative Assistant
Purpose: The administrative assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks, enabling the Coordinator and Parent Educators to focus more time and energy on
direct services to families participating in Rice County Parents as
Teachers.
Responsible to: Parents as Teachers Program Coordinator and USD 405 Superintendent
Qualifications and characteristics:
1. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Good employment rating including reference checks.
3. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.
4. Confident in basic computer skills.
5. Able to maintain confidentiality.
6. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with PAT participants as well as the public.
7. Additional desired qualities include being efficient, able to multi-task and participate in a creative, flexible team environment.
Primary duties include:
1. Maintaining Kansas KIDS # records in Infinite Campus.
2. Managing/balancing the budget.
3. Managing requisitions/purchasing.
4. Creating and publishing regular newsletters and other promotional materials. 5. Assisting with reports and updating records, as needed.
6. Keeping staff meeting minutes.
7. Manage PAT page on the USD 405 website as well as the program"s social media platforms.
8. Assist in connecting with local resources.
9. Translate materials into Spanish (if bilingual)
10. Assist with the planning and preparations for Group Connections and other public events. 11. Assist with grants, as needed.
12. Manage inventory and supply orders, as needed.
13. Any other duties that will support and strengthen the quality of the program.
Additional considerations:
1. Able to travel in personal or school district vehicle. (Mileage reimbursement given for use of personal vehicle)
2. Able to be flexible regarding scheduling, working conditions, and locations. 3. Able to implement and follow all USD 405 health and safety policies.
Term of Employment: At will, 10 hours per week, 12 months per year
Payment Rate: Salary determined by the schedule in the Classified Handbook
Evaluation: Performance effectiveness will be evaluated in accordance with Provisions of Kansas Statutes and Board of Education Policy.
