The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for qualified and experienced
individuals in the position of Principal - Sustainability

About the role

We are seeking a capable Sustainability professional to improve how NPL manages
Social Performance, including delivery of National Content.

This role is focused on turning commitments and targets into practical delivery
plans, measurable outcomes and continuous improvement. Working across
Sustainability and other site functions, the position will help simplify
processes, strengthen reporting discipline and support improvement actions that
help NPL lift performance and achieve its targets.

In this role, you will:

* Coordinate National Content delivery and reporting: Support the planning,
monitoring and reporting cycle for NPL’s National Content commitments,
including preparation of the annual National Content report, ensuring
progress, risks and improvement actions are clearly captured for internal
governance and external reporting requirements.

* Turn commitments into practical programs: Work across site functions to
convert commitments, targets and outcomes into clear initiatives and delivery
pathways, including support for local enterprise and LANCO establishment
where required.

* Support performance improvement: Identify gaps, constraints and risks, then
work with responsible departments to define practical actions that improve
delivery and support year-on-year progress against targets.

* Develop the Social Monitoring Plan: Develop and maintain indicators,
baselines, targets, data sources and program logic that link National
Content, Community Development and broader Social Performance activities to
intended outcomes.

* Simplify reporting and data routines: Improve monthly and quarterly Social
Performance reporting by streamlining workflows, reducing manual effort,
clarifying accountabilities, improving data quality and building repeatable
routines.

* Strengthen governance, risk and assurance: Coordinate the National Content
governance cycle through clear performance updates, action tracking, decision
papers and issue escalation, while ensuring delivery remains aligned with NPL
governance requirements, Mining Development Contract commitments, National
Content obligations and social performance standards.

* About You



To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following
qualifications and experience

* Experience in Social performance or related sustainability programs,
preferably in mining or another complex operating environment.

* Strong business improvement capability, with experience simplifying
processes, improving reporting routines, strengthening data flows and
supporting practical performance improvement.

* Strong analytical and data management skills, including the ability to
develop indicators, metrics, dashboards and reporting tools to track progress
against targets.

* Ability to work across departments and stakeholders to align priorities,
clarify accountabilities and support delivery through clear plans, milestones
and follow-up.

* ·Sound understanding of PNG development priorities, local enterprise
participation, regulatory expectations and the operating context of the
mining sector.

* Excellent communication, reporting, and project management skills.
* Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, data analytics,
sustainability, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining, infrastructure, consulting,
sustainability, social performance, national content or another complex
operating environment.
* Strong structured problem-solving, analytical and business improvement
capability, with experience simplifying processes, improving performance
systems and supporting delivery against targets.
* Experience developing indicators, dashboards, reports or performance tools
that support monitoring, evaluation, decision-making and continuous
improvement.
* Working knowledge of National Content, local enterprise development,
workforce or supplier development frameworks.
* Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills, with the
ability to work across functions, clarify accountabilities and drive
follow-up.
* Proficiency with Excel and experience using Power BI, Borealis, databases or
similar reporting and visualisation tools.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to
prepare clear performance updates, governance papers and stakeholder-ready
reports.

Skills & Experience

Mobilization Requirement



This is a PNG National Staff position, a site-based role on a Fly in Fly out
arrangement with rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Must successfully pass
a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. (This will be
arranged only for successful candidates who progress after the interview stage)
and have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6
months).
