Itinerant Art Teacher Windham SAU #95

Windham School district is looking for a grade 5–8 Itinerant Art Teacher to be responsible for providing a comprehensive visual arts program that fosters creativity, critical thinking, artistic skill development, and appreciation for the visual arts at both the Windham Center and Windham Middle Schools. Through both traditional and digital media, the teacher creates an engaging learning environment where students explore artistic concepts, develop technical proficiency, and express their individual ideas.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and implement a standards-aligned visual arts curriculum that meets the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of middle-level learners.
- Establish, communicate, and assess clear learning objectives that promote artistic growth and student achievement.
- Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that incorporate drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, ceramics, and digital art and design.
- Integrate technology and digital art tools into instruction, providing students with opportunities to create, edit, and present artwork using contemporary digital media and creative software.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to express their ideas, perspectives, and identities through artistic creation.
- Cultivate students' aesthetic awareness and visual literacy, enabling them to analyze, interpret, and evaluate works of art using appropriate artistic vocabulary.
- Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative measures, providing timely and meaningful feedback to support artistic growth.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and well-equipped art studio that promotes responsible use and care of traditional and digital materials, equipment, and technology.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Fine Arts Department and across disciplines to develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities and enrich the educational experience for students.
- Participate in school and district initiatives, professional learning opportunities, and collaborative teams that support continuous instructional improvement.
Qualifications and Professional Expectations: State of NH DOE certified in 0200 Visual Art Education, or the ability to be certified, is required.

Salary and Benefits: In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement of the Windham Education Association.
