Job Summary:
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) / Paraprofessional to support students with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and communication needs. Responsibilities include providing direct student support, implementing behavior and instructional plans, collecting data, collaborating with staff, and promoting student independence and success in a school setting.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to students in academic, behavioral, social, and functional skill development.
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and individualized education programs (IEPs) under the supervision of certified staff.
- Collect and maintain accurate behavioral and instructional data.
- Support students in general education and specialized instructional settings.
- Assist students with organization, task completion, communication, and social interactions.
- Utilize positive behavior supports and de-escalation strategies as needed.
- Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, community-based activities, and other school routines.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, special education staff, behavior specialists, and related service providers.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information in accordance with district policies and federal regulations.
- Participate in required trainings and professional development activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with children preferred
- RBT certification required
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with students with diverse educational and behavioral needs.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Salary and Benefits: Pay and benefits in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Unit of AFSCME, 6.5 hours per day, with a starting wage of $21.00 per hour.
Qualifications: High school diploma required; associate's degree or higher preferred. RBT Certification required.
