BHA Academy is hiring compassionate, dependable, and motivated Paraprofessionals to support students with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges in a structured educational setting. Pay & Sign-On Bonus
Starting Pay: From $17.92/hour, based on education, experience, and qualifications
$1,000 Sign-On Bonus
$500 after 90 days
Additional $500 after 180 days (with continued employment in good standing)
About BHA Academy
BHA Academy partners with students and families to provide individualized education, evidence-based behavioral support, and compassionate care. Our mission is to help every student build skills, increase independence, and achieve long-term success in the least restrictive environment possible.

What You'll Do
Build positive, respectful relationships with students while promoting safety, dignity, and independence.
Support classroom instruction using evidence-based strategies, including Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Assist with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), behavior intervention plans, and skill-building activities.
Help students during instruction, transitions, therapies, and community-based learning.
Collect and document student progress and behavior data.
Provide personal care support as needed, including toileting, hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance.
Maintain an organized, structured learning environment.
Support crisis prevention and intervention procedures following training and safety plans.
Administer medications as trained and authorized.
Collaborate with teachers, behavior clinicians, therapists, and fellow team members.
Participate in team meetings, required training, and professional development.
What We're Looking For
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to stay calm and professional in challenging situations
Ability to support students throughout the school day
Willingness to complete crisis intervention/de-escalation training
Commitment to creating a positive learning environment
Preferred
College coursework in education, psychology, or a related field
One year of experience working with children or individuals with developmental or behavioral needs (experience welcomed but not required)
