Paraprofessional Pool (Lifeguard Cert. Required)

Description:

Under the supervision of the immediate supervisor, Pool Paraprofessionals are
responsible for swimming pool operation, safety, and supervision of the
students. Valid Lifeguard, CPR and AED certifications are required.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Understands and applies the rules and regulations in the swimming pool area,

Assists with evaluation of environmental hazards,

Uses lifesaving equipment professionally and safely,

Assists with bather and crowd control,

Implements the pool safety plan in case of emergencies,

Dresses appropriately and professionally in pool area,

Assists with direct supervision of all bathers in providing a safe environment,

Records daily pool attendance for Health Department records,

Responsible for preparing the Physical Plant for instruction,

Performs other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Lifeguard Certification REQUIRED.

H.S. Diploma/GED required.

Valid CPR/AED certifications required.

One (1) year professional experience with children preferred.
