Elementary Resource Room Teacher | IllinoisFull-Time | Grades 3–5 | Full School Year
Help Students Overcome Learning Challenges and Reach Their Potential
Our organization is recruiting a Special Education Teacher for an Illinois elementary school district. This full-time opportunity focuses on supporting students in grades 3–5 through targeted resource room instruction, individualized learning strategies, and specialized academic support.
The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students strengthen essential skills, make progress toward their learning goals, and access the general education curriculum in ways that meet their individual needs. Interviews are being scheduled in advance as the district prepares to fill this opening.
In this role, you will deliver targeted, individualized instruction through one-on-one and small-group support specifically aligned with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEPs). You will champion differentiated learning by adjusting instructional materials, assignments, and teaching methods to effectively address varied academic abilities and learning needs. To ensure ongoing student progress, you will regularly review performance data, measure individual growth, refine your instructional approaches, and maintain highly accurate records. Beyond direct instruction, your role involves vital IEP coordination, including participating in meetings, contributing to student goal-setting, and keeping the relevant team members updated on progress. Finally, you will provide comprehensive collaborative support by coordinating closely with general education teachers, related-service providers, administrators, and families to promote a consistent and unified support system for every student.
